Written By: Carol - Jan• 31•14

Chauncey and Jackie held their wedding at the beautiful Edgewood Country Club on Saturday, January 18, 2014.  Can we just say….best wedding ever!  This was one of the most fun and beautiful weddings that we have had the privilege to shoot and wanted to post a few pictures from such a special day.

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Lane!

Brian & Kristen | Wedding

Sydney and I had the honor of photographing Brian & Kristen’s Wedding on October 4, 2013, held at David Walley’s in historic Genoa, Nevada.  It was a beautiful day for two of the nicest people in the world and we would like to share a sneak peak of their day.

Thank you Brian and Kristen for allowing us to take a small part in your special day!

Nick + Kristy | Wedding

Written By: Carol - Aug• 07•12

I had the pleasure of photographing Nick & Kristy’s wedding at the Vallhalla Estate a few weeks ago.    The bride and groom chose to keep their special day for just the two of them and the rustic elegance of this historic property provided  a beautiful and romantic backdrop for their intimate exchange of vows.

Congratulations Nick & Kristy!

IV+Brittney – Wedding

Written By: Carol - Aug• 31•11

It was Christmas Eve.  He proposed.  On the beach.  In the snow.  She said yes.  It was meant to be.

Sydney and I had the great honor of photographing the wedding of IV & Brittney Jones this past week-end.  Their wedding was held in Lake Tahoe at  Roundhill Pines beach where the weather was glorious and the party was just gettin’ started!

They met in high school and although life ushered them into different directions, they eventually found each other.  And on their wedding day, they are assured of their love and that they were meant to be.  Forever.

All you have to do is watch how Brittney and IV look at each other and you instantly realize that  no two people on earth love more than these two do.  And you watch how that love overflows beyond one another to their beautiful daughter, Nya.  Their family is a true inspiration to all who gathered on this fabulous day.

Congrats IV & Brittney and thank you for allowing us to document your love and your special day!

Still working on the many pictures taken that day, but here are a few of our favs so far…

Fancy Shoes

Written By: Carol - Jul• 09•11

Having lived in Tahoe for most of my life I’ve become accustomed to certain things that come with the territory of living in a mountain and tourist filled town.   Such as; shoveling snow, tourists, chipping ice off my windshield, having to drive “off the mountain” to get anywhere, bears, majestic sunsets, no home mail delivery, owning a wide variety of  jeans, drunk tourists, hiking trails, beautiful views, and a mountain casual dress code which includes wearing two types of shoes; snow boots for the winter and sandals for the summer.  OK, I’ll throw in my shape-ups for photo shoots.

Which begs the question;  Why on earth do I own fancy shoes?

My social life consists of  grocery shopping, an occasional movie, once a week dinners with friends at the local “diner”, and oh yeah, going to the post office.  Living in a mountain town just does not give one much occasion to wear high heels.  On the professional side of  my life, I do meet with clients, attend meetings, community events, business get-togethers, and the overall dress code for such events is a step-up to business mountain casual (interpretation; upgrade from snow shoes or sandals to comfortable flats).   Whether you are dealing with six feet of snow with an inch of ice on the ground, or beach going, flip-flopping, fun-loving, sun worshiping individuals around every corner, it is still all about the practicality.  Again, why on earth do I own fancy shoes?

My daughters (who would like for me to give them my fancy shoes) are convinced that I buy them because they look good in my closet.  Yes…they do look good in my closet.  No…you may not have them.

After all, you never know when you may be invited to a last minute red carpet event and find yourself in a fancy shoe emergency pickle.  When that day comes, I am prepared.  Until then, my fancy shoes shall remain in my closet.  Waiting.  Right there beside my fancy dresses and blinged out purses.  Lookin’ good.  In my closet.

Deonte+Amanda – Wedding

Written By: Carol - Jul• 01•11

Deonte and Amanda were married on June 25 and it was an absolute pleasure to photograph this wedding!  We know we talk a lot about how wonderful our wedding couples are, and true, they are.  But these two were set apart not only by their obvious love and respect for one another, but by how that love was  reflected through the warmth and kindness of their family and friends.  And, let us not forget to mention the well behaved and handsome young man who was a very important  part of the wedding party – their dog Oakland!

Thank you Deonte and Amanda.  Not only for allowing us to be part of your special day, but also by giving us such a positive and uplifting experience.

Hal+Joye – Wedding

Hal and Joye were married last Sunday evening at Regan Beach.  They are from the great state of Louisiana,  and while they had some challenges to overcome with the booking of  the ceremony, they kept their sense of humour throughout.  With a comical story that could have easily turned into a nightmare, they kept the faith and had a glorious wedding day!   After a few days in Lake Tahoe, they traveled to Las Vegas for the remainder of their honeymoon and looked forward to some fun in the sun and warm weather!  Best wishes Hal & Joye!  I had a great time shooting your wedding!

Rick and Yesenia were married on June 11 and what fun it was to photograph their wedding!  Yesenia had the minister and I in stiches before the ceremony which always makes our job a joy!

May Weddings

I’m so sorry I have been unable to post any wedding pictures or stories lately.  With computer crashes and all, I haven’t had a chance.  So I thought the least I could do was post a picture of each couple that I shot during the month of May.  Thanks to all of these special couples for inviting me to be a part of their wedding day and allowing me to photograph their once in a lifetime event!
